Homes in Academy Village. Residents of the Academy Village own their own homes, each with a covered patio to enjoy the beauty of the natural open space in and around the community. Homes range in size from one bedroom to three bedrooms with a study, all have enclosed garages, and some have casitas. The strong sense of community is enhanced with single-family homes arranged in clusters of four, and adjoining town-homes–four to six in each complex.

Half of the acreage in the community has been preserved as open space and residents enjoy the abundant cacti, yucca, ocotillo and creosote bushes. Birds are plentiful and sightings from one’s patio may include desert wildlife such as coyotes, javelinas and bobcats that occasionally wander by. Most homes have beautiful views of the Rincon Mountains that flank two sides of the community. Hiking paths throughout the open space have been created by volunteer residents to provide residents with lovely hikes through the desert and hills.

There are three sets of homes:

New Homes:  Miramonte Homes has a sales office and two spec homes available to view.  They have built two homes for new residents, and are building a two more. About half of the lots in the community are available as new home sites.

In addition, the former developer, Doucette Homes, owns one and has options on 7 lots on which he will build new homes.

Progress on these two sets of new homes is described in New Homes.

Medium/Long Term Rentals: These homes are unfurnished or furnished and are available for a time period that exceeds 30 days.  They are described in the Rental Homes section.

In addition, there are often resale houses available.  Please check with your local realtor or use a website such as Zillo.com to determine if any resales are available.
