Academy Village Health Care Services consist of three units:
The Wellness Center is located in the Community Center building, and is designed to complement the medical and wellness care offered in Southern Arizona. All residents services are obtained on a subscription basis (see the form for details).. The Wellness Center’s greatest value arises when a resident is ill, hurt or suffering a chronic condition. Here “wellness” truly comes to the fore, as the nurse provides guidance for optimum care, faster recovery, or stabilization. Click on the list of personalized services.
The Wellness Center is funded primarily through subscriptions paid by Village residents, tax-exempt donations from Village residents.
Private Duty Home Health Services: Staffed by a Certified Nurse Assistant under the direction of a Registered Nurse, this program assists residents with activities of daily living, errands, and appointments. This is a fee-for-service program and is not funded by fees collected through Wellness Center subscriptions or the Homeowners Association. Home health fees are based on hourly use.
The Wellness Center and the Private Duty Home health services are of great help to Academy Village residents:
“We greatly appreciate the availability of blood draws and flu shots at the Center, as well as the annual health assessments. We’ve also made good use of referrals to specialists in the Tucson area” Deon and Dianne Holt
“The convenience of having these services available in the village frees up our time and energy to get on with our life here.” Malcolm and Jane Parker
Academy Villas at Academy Village: Academy Villas, a 9,000 square foot Assisted Living building with spectacular views of the Rincon Mountains, is single story, laid out in a centralized plan with the building’s twelve suites radiating off the central shared space. The new building, being completed now, is somewhat larger than the first Villas–11,000 square feet.
Without a loss of privacy, the floor plan of the Villa invites the kind of shared community living that infuses all of Academy Village: warm, supportive, friendly, and fun. ‘Villagers’ enjoy the responsibility of developing community traditions that complement the offerings of Wellness, Fitness and the Arizona Senior Academy. Residents of the Academy Villas develop their own programs, as well as have full access to those of Academy Village. Please visit the Academy Villas site.
“When I retired to Academy Village, the first villa had not yet been built. When it became a reality, I realized that it would have been perfect for my father. He would have lived a longer and more enriched life in the Academy Villas” Virginia Richardson
The Villa Salon is available for both Villa and Academy Village residents. Jimmi Ross (hair) 520-401-0621; and Kathi Tucker (Nails) 520-885-2247.
